Richard is a civil servant working for the DVSA checking HGV operators and driver hours.  Prior to this he was a tax consultant for a local accountant having had a 35-year career with HMRC in investigations and managing Evasion teams.

Richard was a Bournemouth councilor for 15 years including 2 years as Leader of the Council, previously holding the Education portfolio.  Richard has been a Trustee and school governor for 25 years and was a founding trustee of the Townsend Youth Partnership charity. He has served on various management committees including youth clubs, the Citizens Advice Bureau and Bournemouth War Memorial Homes.

Richard is the Link Trustee for Elm Academy and Kinson Academy.  Richard believes in public service and striving to give all our young people the best start in life.
